clients

In the years since Fastwater was created, in 1998, the firm has worked with a broad range of companies across a number of different industries.  The common thread that ties these engagements together is that, in each case, the company was striking off in a new direction and needed custom research or analysis to help with new product strategy and marketing.

Fastwater is at its best when it is working with early stage markets and new applications of information technology.  Such markets involve uncertainty and risk. But, as a survey of the following list of clients demonstrates, working on the cutting edge often opens possibilities for growth.

Fastwater worked with ActionPoint to explore emerging opportunities in financial services markets for the company's XML based Dialog Server product.  This product introduced a new category of application development software that automated the creation and maintenance of user dialogs in web-based business applications.

ActionPoint and the Dialog Sever product were acquired by Captiva.

BroadVision, provider of e-commerce application and Web portal software, turned to Fastwater to conduct research on how customers were deriving value from their implementations of BroadVision's technology. The outcome of the project generated sales collateral for BroadVision's partner channel.
Fastwater worked with Enigma over a two-year period to help the company move from a horizontal focus on content delivery to a  focused marketing and development effort that addresses post-sale support chain applications in manufacturing industries.  Fastwater conducted primary market research, assisted in technology assessments, and provided the company with a picture of the competitive landscapes for different alternatives.

Kinecta created one of the first commercial software products to enable content syndication. Fastwater was quick to recognize the potential role for content syndication in B2B operations, breaking out beyond the technology's early use by news organizations.

Fastwater helped Kinecta Corporation develop and articulate business and technical messaging that supported an acquisition by Stellant, Inc. in April, 2002.  In addition we produced a number of papers and articles that are still available to the general public in our website library.
